TipStub Terms of Use
Effective date: October 31, 2026
Provider: Aetheris Innovations (Frezer Kifle) ("we", "us"). Contact: support@aetherisinnovations.com.
By downloading or using TipStub, you agree to these terms. Please read them with our Privacy Policy.
1. What TipStub is
TipStub is an app for iPhone and Android for logging the tips you earn at work. It keeps a daily tip record, shows each month's total and the date your monthly tip report is due to your employer, and makes files you can share: a CSV spreadsheet, a monthly employer statement and a year-end record pack. It works in English and Spanish, keeps your records on your phone (we have no server), and has no ads.
2. Record-keeping only
TipStub is a record-keeping tool only. It does not give tax, legal or accounting advice, does not file your taxes, and does not decide whether you qualify for any deduction. Not affiliated with or endorsed by the IRS or any government agency. Ask a tax professional about your situation.
- TipStub is not a government app. The rules it follows come from IRS Publication 531 and IRS.gov, and the app links to those pages (Settings → How the rules work). Those pages are the source. Read them for the details.
- Totals, due dates, the under-$20 note and the yearly $25,000 meter are worked out from what you log and from the rules as published when your version of TipStub was made. The rules and the Treasury list of tipped occupations can change.
- TipStub does not calculate a deduction or any tax amount, and it does not tell you how to report your tips on a tax return.
- The monthly employer statement is a statement containing the information required by IRS Publication 531. It is not a government form. You write in your Social Security number by hand, sign and date it, and give it to your employer yourself. TipStub never sends anything to your employer or to the IRS.
3. Your responsibilities
- TipStub is for adults 18 and older.
- You are responsible for logging your tips accurately and completely, and for checking your records against your pay stubs and your W-2 or 1099 forms.
- You are responsible for what you report to your employer and to the IRS, and for meeting your deadlines. A reminder that doesn't arrive does not change a due date.
- Keep your own copies of your records (see section 6).
- Don't misuse TipStub. For example, don't try to break it, copy it, resell it or reverse-engineer it, except where the law allows.
4. Free and Pro
- Free, no ads: unlimited shift logging, your running yearly tip total and the $25,000 meter, 1 job, the month view with due dates, a daily reminder to log your shift, CSV export and app lock.
- Pro: the monthly employer statement PDF and monthly report reminders, the year-end PDF record pack, more than one job, and encrypted backup and restore.
- Price: $2.99 per month or $19.99 per year (U.S. prices). The App Store or Google Play shows the price before you confirm a purchase.
- Free trial: a plan may come with a free trial. If it does, the store shows how long it lasts before you confirm. You won't be charged until the trial ends, and if you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, you won't be charged.
- We may change what each plan includes or what it costs in the future. A price change for an existing subscription follows Apple's or Google's rules, including any notice or consent they require.
5. Billing, renewal and cancellation
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID (App Store) or Google account (Google Play) when you confirm the purchase, or when a free trial ends.
- The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the price shown for that plan, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- You can manage or cancel it at any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, or in TipStub at Settings → Subscription → Manage subscription. If you cancel, Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for.
- Refunds of a purchase follow Apple's or Google's rules. For the App Store, ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. For Google Play, see Google Play's refund policy.
- Deleting your data or deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Pro belongs to the store account you bought it with. On another phone with the same store account, use Restore purchases. A subscription bought on Google Play can't be used on an iPhone, and one bought on the App Store can't be used on Android.
- If Pro ends, nothing you logged is deleted. You keep the Free features, and the Pro features stay locked until you subscribe again.
6. Your data and backups
- TipStub has no account and no server. Your records are stored on your phone. On iPhone, an iCloud or computer backup of the phone may also hold a copy. If the phone is lost, broken or reset, or you delete the app, your records are gone unless you made a copy.
- Make copies regularly: a CSV export (Free) or an encrypted backup (Pro). Keep backup files and your passphrase somewhere safe.
- We can't recover your records, a forgotten app-lock PIN, or a lost backup passphrase.
- Our Privacy Policy explains how TipStub handles data.
7. Apple's terms (App Store)
If you got TipStub from the App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. If you got it from Google Play, Google Play's terms apply to your purchase.
8. No warranty
TipStub is provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep it accurate, but we don't promise that it will be free of errors, that every total or due date will be right, that reminders will arrive on time, or that it reflects the latest rules. Check important dates and amounts against IRS.gov, your employer's records and your tax forms. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all other warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
9. Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including a missed report or filing deadline, a penalty, interest, a tax assessment or lost data. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50, whichever is more. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
10. Ending
You can stop using TipStub at any time: delete your data (Settings → Delete all data) and the app, and cancel any subscription in your store account. We may stop offering or updating TipStub. If we do, we will say so on this website. Your records stay on your phone, so export a copy you can keep.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will post the new version on this page with a new effective date. If a change takes away rights you have, we will also tell you in the app before it applies to you. Small changes, like fixing typos, take effect when posted.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and U.S. federal law.
